Sneaker

B

y now you know that I am a sneakerHERhead. I would say being in love with sneakers is an understatement right now. I really love sneakers these days. My style isn’t limited to one particular brand or type. I love sporting Jordans, Forces, Dunks and any designer brand that I find super cute. Nike will always be a staple in my closet. Currently my closet is running over with more sneakers vs heels. We haven’t been anywhere in the past two years so I definitely purchased more kicks since 2020.
My love for sneakers really started probably 20 years ago. I was totally into Nike and Puma. Puma at one time had an amazing designer that I loved. I couldn’t wait until the new releases. Over the past year I have purchased several pair of New Balance. They have really stepped their game up in the sneaker department. I absolutely love their 327 classic trainer and I am currently looking at the P550 low-top sneakers. I am trying to decide on what color way. Most days I watch for new releases, but I am not one to camp out for a sneaker. Its not that serious for me lol

A few things about me since becoming a sneaker head over the past ten years or so

I am constantly running out of closet space
I mark my calendar for release dates because I dislikes fake sneakers
I love the new smell of the sneaker the first time I open the box
I dislike creases on my sneakers.
I am more of a trendy sneaker person

Sneaker-heads have had a huge financial impact within the marketplace given the sell and resell in the sneaker community. I am not into reselling sneakers. I buy them for my own collection. I don’t have a particular goal in mind or a number of sneakers that I would like to own. My sneaker choices are just that. I buy what I like. I often lean toward colorful ones so that I can wear them with multiple outfits. There is a method to it for me. Once I decide that Im not going to wear a pair of sneakers again I just give them away. It makes me feel better about buying new ones. However, let me say that I haven’t given any high end sneakers away yet lol

Sneakers that are rare and sneakers with celebrity collaborations are at the top of my list. I love bold and colorful sneakers. I love the odd ones. The sneakers that spark a conversation.
I am constantly keeping up with the latest drops, and scouring the internet for that one pair that I missed out on. (GOAT and STOCKX)

If you want to start a sneaker collection or you just want to add some new kicks to your collection keep in mind these few things. Your sneakers don’t have to be name brand or even the latest drop. Just buy what appeals to you. Whether its a Jordan 1 which is really hot right now or a Jordan low just go for it. I love the flexibility of the Jordan lows. I can wear them with jeans, a wide legged pant, shorts or even a a suit.

Sneakers have become an entire CULTURE! Go get you a piece!
