fter purchasing our condo in Wayzata, Minnesota we decided we wanted to design it a little differently than our primary home. This space is much smaller so we put careful consideration into our design choices. The goal was to give it a homey feeling without cluttering the space. Being comfortable is the condo was our main goal. We wanted it to feel just like home in spite of only being there part time. The space itself is very open and perfect for entertaining.
Our main objective was to show the beautiful architect of the condo. It includes stacked enamel crown molding and glass faced cabinetry. It has a luxurious owner’s suite with an outstanding walk in closet system. The floors are a beautiful dark rich walnut.
The condo had one previously owner and their style was totally opposite of ours. With that being said we made some immediate changes. We painted all of the interior walls a soft grey. Having such a neutral wall color allowed us to choose colors that would pop with the neutral tones. We replaced all of the lighting in the home by adding high end fixtures to give the condo a more modern feel. The main upgrade to the space was done in the kitchen. We chose a beautiful Cambria countertop and backsplash called The Bentley. It is stunning. It tied all of our design choices together.
Our furniture choices were from both Restoration Hardware and Mitchell Gold Bob Williams. They both provide well made high end furniture that suits our style perfectly.
The condo is located one block from Lake Minnetonka Shores with walking access to restaurants and shopping.
This post was written to give you a glimpse into our home interior style.
