Books

I

have always been an avid reader. My love for reading started at a very early age. I read as a young child and I grew to really love reading as a teenager. Getting lost in a book was my favorite place to go when I needed to disconnect from everything around me. I used reading as my alone time. Reading is a place where I get lost in the characters of the books and their journeys. I learned that I could see the world through books. I love getting to the middle of the book. Not the beginning-when the characters and scenes have a newness and sense of unfamiliarity. Not the end- when farewell is an imminent certainty. I enjoy the middle-when I can savor the beauty of being in a far-off place from the comfort of my spot on the sofa or my favorite chair by the window.

I dont have a particular genre of book that I gravitate to. I choose my new reads based soley on what type of experience I am want at the time. Whether it be fantasy, mystery, thriller, romance or poetry. I love them all!

Over the past two years I have been unable to really focus on reading. Each time I sat down with a good book my concentration just wasnt there. I set a lot of reading goals for myself and I didnt meet any of them. I beat myself up quite a bit because I didnt accomplish my goal. I am releasing the guilt lol!

Life is getting back to a normal existence and with that my reading concentration is right where it needs to be. I am ready to make my way through all of my unread shelf, explore the literary community around me, and of course recommend books to you!

I am so excited to share my current list of books that I would love to read over the next year. I have mixture of books on my list and I am excited to get back in swing of being lost in my reading. Check out the titles and I hope there are a few in this post that pique your interest!
